  • FESPA 2017 brought together a buoyant speciality printing community, with many exhibitors reporting record sales, and an audience of senior decision-makers coming with an immediate intention to invest.

The event’s ‘global print expo’ strapline was reflected in its diverse international visitor profile, with printers and signmakers coming to Hamburg from 139 countries, making it the most international FESPA ever.

The largest visitor groups were from Germany, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark and Poland, the latter two reflecting the accessibility of the host city for visitors from these countries. Following the success of FESPA Asia in Bangkok in February 2017, the Hamburg event also saw growth in visitors from Asia, representing 10% of total attendance.

  • FESPA announced the winners of its 2017 Awards at a celebration dinner held at the Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg, on Wednesday 10 May, mid-week highlight of FESPA 2017.

The 2017 Awards attracted entries from across 37 countries, with the top prizes being given to entrants from across Europe, Asia and Australasia.

This year’s winning pieces included innovative entries across all categories, 3D printed shoes and more than 30 t-shirt entries. The Special Effect (31 submitted) and Point of Purchase Products - Paper and Board (26 submitted) categories proved to be the most popular among entrants.

  • Christian Duyckaerts has been inaugurated as the new President of FESPA, the global federation of Associations for the wide-format printing community.

The inauguration took place during the annual FESPA Gala Night on Wednesday 10 May during the FESPA 2017 global print expo in Hamburg, Germany (8 - 12 May).

Christian is FESPA’s 17th President, and will be supported during his term of presidential office by Vice-President Christophe Aussenac.

  • FESPA and European Sign Expo today announced that its FESPA 2018 global print expo, will take place over four days from Tuesday15 to Friday18 May 2018 at Messe Berlin, Germany.

The next global print expo is expected to cover nine halls of the Berlin Messe showcasing screen, digital and textile printing solutions. FESPA 2018 will again be co-located with European Sign Expo for non-printed visual communication solutions.

  • FESPA has released Direct, a new service to encourage print professionals around the world to become part of the global print membership community.

FESPA is growing its community, and now has a new way, for people outside its 37 association nations, to join and enjoy a suite of membership benefits.

The idea behind FESPA Direct was created when the global print community showed an interest in joining FESPA, but couldn’t because there was not a local Association in their country.
